Returning to the Promised Land

The season finale has finally arrived for Wifey Wednesdays season 21. Having spent two seasons overviewing the Old Testament, Emily wraps up the season by looking at the remnant’s return to the Promised Land. Having survived captivity, God’s people are brought back in waves to rebuild the temple, the walls, and ultimately, their knowledge of God and their obedience to Him.

Prophets, Captivity, and Pointing to Jesus

This episode of Wifey Wednesdays focuses on the time of the prophets in our Old Testament history. While there was an entire episode dedicated to Elijah, this episode is intended to overview the work of all of the prophets and ultimately showcase how they were pointing to Jesus. Giving bits and pieces of detail about some of the prophets, Emily directs the listener’s attention to the blessing we have of living in a time that the prophets dreamed about — having the complete revealed will of God and knowing the scheme of redemption in full. This episode, while meant to round out our survey of the Old Testament, is hopefully going to encourage us to spend more time pouring over their words and basking in the goodness of God’s plan and the blessing of living in a time where we can benefit from the work of Christ in our own lives!
